These are terms used to describe projectors today - confusing, isn’t it?
If you want to watch movies, buy a true home theatre projector (16:9 panel). If you want to do presentations from a laptop or PC, buy a data projector (4:3 panel). Both types of projectors will do both circumstances, however, they are designed for one main purpose each, so best to use them for what they were designed to do.
DLP is a dearer technology, blacks are blacker and whites are whiter.
